The Baton Rouge Botanic Garden Foundation will host a FREE Garden Discoveries event, "Backyard Horror: Appreciating Louisiana's Wildlife through a Different Lens," led by Jessica McDaniel.
Jessica McDaniel will talk about the many unique and intimidating ways your natural neighbors look and behave, celebrating their "horror vibes" as the things that make them interesting. From carnivorous wildlife to blood-sucking squatters, hungry gardeners to clever opportunists, you'll learn why your yard can be inviting to the frightening, and leave with practical resources for encounters with the "horrors" of nature.
Speaker Jessica McDaniel is a Librarian, Certified Master Naturalist, and lover of the odd, weird, and interesting. She coordinates horror programming for adults at the Main Library at Goodwood.
Weather permitting a tour will follow of the Baton Rouge Botanic Gardens adjacent to the Library.
